I have been the Co-PI for a range of research projects in molecular plant biology, agriculture, phytopathology and biotechnology financed by DFG, ENPI, MERC, GEF.

Role

As acting director of Biodiversity & Biotechnology Research Institute (BBRI), I am involved in the development and implementation of a new science strategy for BERC, to focus and enhance its Palestine-leading science and conservation work, strengthen its position as a global resource for plant and fungal knowledge.

Research has been focused on

Plant Molecular Biology; Epigenetics; Genomics; Phytopathology & Biocontrol Science; Medical Mycology: Dermatophytoses, Candidiasis; Environmental Health; essential oil research; Medicinal Plants, Ethnobotany, Ethnopharmacology, Traditional Arabic Palestinian Herbal Medicine (TAPHM).
